Waterway Forwards approach to East India Dock

East India Dock is one of the last remaining undeveloped docks in East London and quite possibly one of the most significant in its rich history that has helped shaped London as a city, and as a home to communities from Bangladesh that now reside locally across the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Derelict since 1967 the dock now provides a perfect habitat for many rare birds and is recognised as a valuable open public space.

Waterway Forward has worked on many possible routes of responsible regeneration and continues to work with various groups who share the vision of balancing wildlife conservation with the promotion of the docks historical and cultural significance.
